First day, my wee ode to sleeping pills and coffee

August 21st, 2006 (08:47 am)

current mood: mellow
current song: KT - Universal You

First day of First grade, time flies by so fast. With his packet of mommy homework ( papers to be filled out by parents) to get a prize from the treasure chest and his lunchbox full of goodies, he was ready. We were up early with alarm clocks blaring. Breakfast of eggs, sausages and toast. Clothes ironed because Anjelica was right, they look so much better that way. And daddy walking bugman into school with lovely coffee in hand.

My last parting thought last night was that this was the first time in many months that I have fallen asleep in a single digit hour. 9:47 pm with the help of a sleeping pill, I didn't even stir.  Now with a day in sole custody of parents, I am enjoying my milk with a bit of coffee, completing work, hopefully squeezing in some scrap time between work and house work. All to hurry to school to gather up Bugman in a yummy hug to celebrate his first day of school.

This is for Negs who was wondering why I haven't posted my layouts in a while.

  • Meet the teacher, I thought it was last night, we even drove to the school.
  • TKD, I am starting tonight with Alex. He is over the moon that he will be a senior student over me.

  • Scrapping, I want/need to play with papers and embelishments. Addicted.
  • Photo printing, I have a huge backlog to get through.

current mood: amused

The other day I was driving around with Alex of course, and this crazy driver turned left on a red right in front of me. I made some noise and called him some name. Alex from the back seat pips up:

Alex: Hey mom did you do this? ( he is holding up his pointer finger)

Me: (trying to sneak a peek while driving) Do what?

Alex: Point your finger at that bad driver!

Me: *lauging* No bug I didn't. Where did you learn about the finger?

Alex: Daddy.

OH MY GOD< I was cracking up. The funniest part to me was that Alex thought it was supposed to be his pointer finger, not the middle finger. And he shoves it up in the air with the sourest look on his face. Totally a Casey moment.

Awwww, the lessons he learns at home. At least I know he will be able to survivwe driving in traffic.

Hermit crab trickster

August 15th, 2006 (11:57 pm)

current mood: Going back to bed

I all most threw away Alex's hermit crab. I thought Big Foot had died because I lifted the the rock cave he sleeps in to see a hermit crab laying limp and pale coming out of his shell, not moving at all. Of course this was righrtbefore I was expecting my parents for dinner and I just couldn't deal with it. So I left the dead hermit crab. And i forgot all about the dead hermit crab today, until I glimpsed movement out of the corner of my eye just now as I was gettinga  glass of water. The dead crab was up and in his water dish!! The damn thing had molted and just crawled way down into his current shell, thats why I didn't see him when I flipped his "empty" shell over. Damn, that would have been bad.

So long live Big Foot the Hermit crab. Damn thing.

TIme to fish out the molted skin, yuck

Let the crazy scheduling begin!

August 11th, 2006 (06:14 pm)

I am working on our Calendar for the next few months, and in some cases the entire year. We, all three of us, are going to be seriously busy. Between Casey's travel, coming in and out, Alex's TKD and Tiger Cubs and school, and my small work projects, we are balancing ALOT. But it is so good.

Which leads me to once again PRAISING my new journal. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT and the five individual collumns that I can plan out. I love the bird's eye view, I love the look, I love the way I refuribished the cover. I just LOVE it!

I have been touching base with various tiger Cub parents, we are all in the mad scramble before school starts, but for us (since we are done with school shopping) all we are scrambling over is Tiger Cub planning. This tiger cub Den leader role is alot, alot of everything. But, I really am enjoying it, I am enjoying the relationships, and hopefully the friendships taht will come out it for all three of us.

Did I mention that it is HOT? It is currently 100 and it feels like 107, seriously so sayith the weather lady.

I am slowly getting back into my creative scrapping, i was taking a break. But now I feel super excited and energized. I actually went out and spent my $25 store credit that I had for a local shop. Fun stuff! And I am toying with the idea of submitting for a design team. Deadline is the 14th. Eepp!

GINA, Journal is in the MAIL!! You should get it Monday-ish.

tata back to scheduling

Catch up

August 8th, 2006 (11:03 am)

current mood: chipper

It has been a while since I posted last, in that time we have been busy.

My parents returned from their trip in one piece all ready rubbing in their in-n-out expierences. They brought Alex back two beautiful Pirate rocks. Gotta love it when the pops realize he has way to many toys, so they brought him back something i really do think he treasures more. he put them with his Poop rock, really it looks liek poop, which is with his small collection of special things.

That same day I was able to see a friend from san Diego. She was in town with his younger sister, little brother  and her boyfriends son. She was taking them all to Fiesta TX. So we were able to meet up and have some lunch. She looks fabulous, so tan and athletic, and her younger sister, OMG so beautiful.

We finally got rain, and I unfortunetley had to drive through it. I was returning from a Cub Scout meeting (this year is going to be SO fun!) and it jsut started POURING! One of the main roads I need to take to get home was like a river, and one of the stop lights going into our subdivision was ripped off the line and laying in the street. I think it hit the truck two cars in front of me.

Once home, I started reading through tons of Cub scout stuff, and playing with the sweet little kitty we are rescueing rightnow. This kitty, *sigh*, was so neglicted, she was just skin and bones and she has an eye infection. the poor thing still has a hard time smelling food. But once we showed her the plate of tuna, she went to town. And now, all most a week later, her coat looks 100% better and her eye seems to slowly be healing. She got the Cat-titude back within three days, and even had to be turned out of the house twice for being a brat. All the dogs think that we have a new playtoy for them, so they have obviously not been introduced to her. Alex, he calls her Tofu.

I have pictures to post, but have work that needs to be done first. I wil try to get them up today.

Tonight, is an Alex-free night. I think a date is in the works. ;o)

Hooray for Penny Twain and Casey

July 31st, 2006 (10:21 pm)

current mood: excited

Tonight, Penny discovered a CORAL SNAKE in our yard. HELLO, poisenious snake. When Casey went out to investigate he found penny trying to corral the damn thing, while it was striking at her. So out came the BB gun, 20 pounds flat weight, super beam flashlight. Casey pinned it with the weight then went after the hatchet in the shed, and chopped that fucker up!! the damn thing was in Alex's playbox!!! So between our super dogs and super hubby, our yard is snake free for now.

Bella, well, she is like me, stayed on the porch while the brave ones killed the bad snake.

Red touch yellow, kill a fellow. Red touch black, venom lack.
